Q: Medical Witholding

Oooh, I am really pissed off right now.  I had my blood drawn last week and i emailed our team admin to get my results, and he replied that he couldn’t give them to me until they have been looked over by the coaching staff.  Meanwhile he gave them to another teammate before the coach saw them because she is “mature enough to read it.”

I’m a friggen human biology major from Stanford who has been getting blood work since I was 14.  That means I’m smart enough to know that I am not an expert.  I understand what it takes to be an expert in the field and therefore know my limitations in reading a lab result.

And to be honest, I wouldn’t mind as much, (them having me wait,) if I wasn’t still waiting on results from three months ago.

This is the aspect of being on an organized team that I dislike most: bureaucratic bull between me and my own medical history.  Loss of control over my own stuff.  If I don’t get my results within the week, there will be a reckoning. Grrrr….
