Starlight she sends
Over darkened tree lines
While whispers wait watching
The rain
There I stand firm
Dripping sorrow and want
Open arms stretch to feel her
Again
Starlight she sends
Over darkened tree lines
While whispers wait watching
The rain
There I stand firm
Dripping sorrow and want
Open arms stretch to feel her
Again

For me this is a love poem to the sun… that glorious sun, shining down and warming your skin as you run wild on the earth. Beautiful.
Wow, love this poem. I love the alliteration of the “w” sound in line 3. There is so much poetry in running, I am a little surprised more runners don’t get into reading and writing it.
Quiet and beautiful. Excited to learn that you’re a poet too! I thought I was the only one who wrote poetry during long runs. 🙂
