Now that things are starting to flow in training, it was with excitement that I drove to the park for my fartlek session this morning. 2′ on 1′ off, 1′ on 2′ off times 5. The park was a mile dirt loop, and my aim was to not hammer the shit out of it. Simple really. And I actually did it. It was nice and controlled and enjoyable throughout.
So why did I need a three hour nap after lunch? I nap once a month, maybe. When I woke up, I ran 35 minutes to cap the day at 11 miles, and that’s all she wrote.
